Where did everybody go?

Looks like RMS and Nacho were the driving force behind this blog. Without them, Jean has no one to verbally abuse. Must be rough, eh Jean? Then again, I guess that's what the whisky bottle is for....

What's everyone doing this weekend?

I'm told that on December 10th (saturday) at 8 PM, there is a going away party for Christof at House 15 in Sector 4. Anyone who was has been to the PIGS luncheons will know who Christof is. When I say "going away party," I really mean BBQ'd meat and beer. If that doesn't entice you, I don't know what will. Everyone is welcome.

As well, there is a Baroque Concert on Monday the 12th at the Tagore theatre (i think). No idea where that is. It says that free passes are available in Sector 36 at alliance francaise. You can call 01722668627 for more info.

That is all.

Yes Kent it's true I was just thinking that myself, who am I gonna argue with now?
And then I was just about to make a nice normal post about my trip to Srinagar but now that has been canceled...so I intend to spend the rest of the day sulking and arguing with myself.

A going away party on September 10th?? That is advance planning...those Swiss must be super organised...

I think he's swedish, and the majority of people at the party will be german. Don't worry, though, I won't tell anyone you said "swiss."

When were you planning on going to srinigar and why was it cancelled?

Jean said...

No he's from Switzerland is he not, he sounds Welsh! {hey, maybe I can start an argument with you!!!}
And are we talking about September 2006 or what???!

Was flying to Srinagar from Delhi on Monday with Nacho & his American friend (Alison) but it turns out she would need to get some kind of papers to be allowed into the state...so no Srinagar snow trip for Jean...guess I'll just have to drown my sorrows...

did i say september? Oops.

Is he swiss? My record isn't looking so good right now.

But you are winning the whiskey drinking contest vote...congrats on that.

Jean said...

Thanks but I'm only winning cos I voted for myself (how sad!)...I need to win something to cheer me up!

kent said...

I voted for you. I've seen others passed out on fridges and floors...but i've never seen you sink to that level.

Thank You!

Just reading the actual message in your post and what time do both these events start at? And is anyone at all going to either?

I have no idea about the baroque thing and the BBQ starts at 8 pm. I'm gonna go and I think other panchkulians will. How could you turn down quality european cheese and beer?

Jean said...

Wow!! Cheese you said the magic word! I'll be there who needs Srinagar when you can have cheese that is not paneer!

kent said...

Hmm...let me just clarify that there will actually be cheese there. Wouldn't want to unleash your wrath if it turned out there wasn't any cheese when I told you there was.

Jean said...

Now hang on just a minute, does that mean you were fabricating the story & there may infact be no cheese present on Saturday night? You really know how to get a girl's hope up only to have them come crashing down again...you said cheese so i want European cheese..(warned you I was in a sulky mood!) if not some European wine (white) will be a suitable substitute.
Thank You.

Oh Jean. Is a social gathering with Chandigarh's elite not good enough for you? You must like living all by your lonesome in that castle of yours.

I'm sure there'll be something european there. And can you be bought off that easily?

Jean said...

Hell yeah! The right cheese or wine & I'll go anywhere!
And I'm not alone in my castle i have Sebastian the Spider and his cockroach friends to keep me company...

I hope you don't mind me quoting you in my next blog post entitled:

I'm so glad someone posted somehting. I was just about to start writing a post to myself about how lonely I was at work. Things are lonely over in 36 now too. There's only 4 of us which is the least number of people I've lived with since being in India. AHHH, what's going on there is to much room around me!

The Baroque concert starts at 6:30pm. If people are interested I may be able to get the passes from the french teacher that comes to my work. Let me know soon though.

In case you guys are still clueless about the location of Tagore Theatre, its in Sector 18 B, and along the street running through the centre of the sector. Its next to the Hockey Stadium and in front (almost) of the Govt Girl's Senior Secondary School.

People from the 36/38 end can take the road between sectors 17 and 18 at the roundabout next to the bus stand, turn right at the lights to enter sector 18 and follow the main street between the row of houses and the market. Tagore theatre will come up on your left, just off the geometrical centre of the sector.

For Panchkula people, it should be easy if they take an autoricksha, all they need is to mention Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh 'n voila!
Otherwise, a left from the the 18-7 roundabout (that's the third roundabout after the traffic lights when coming from Panchkula), a right at the mid-sector traffic lights and Tagore Theatre will be on your right just after you pass the shops.

Samantha, you can take either route depending on which end of Sector 8 you exit from.

And oh, in case anyone (you know who you are) thinks i dont have work to do and am bored enough to write all this, i just finished up my tasks and this is my way of taking a break... ;P
