Chamber Music

A new Trainee in Town

Which country?

His name is "Mosquito Panchkulius", staying with us for 3 months (just Monsoon time) and coming from "Bugland"(not England)
Last night Jean and I had the opportunity to share 5 hours with him while we were sleeping in Ryan's house...as a result, today we have our bodies covered in bites, plus Jean got both eyes totally red and swelled.

We hope not to see Mosquito Panchkulius again and also we hope he'll leave to Bugland soon.

Possibly The Best Love song....ever?

I just couldn't resist this – I don't get to see this episode of The Simpsons with Ricky Gervais (from the Office) so instead I have to read about it and imagine it in my head, which, by the way is nowhere near as funny!

Here's Charles Heathbar's (Gervias) attempt to woo Marge on a Wife Swap style program -
Lady when you came to me
I was feeling blue
Blue just like your hair you see
Blue just like the moon
But only when the moon is blue
And not when it is cream
And now that you are here with me
I am in a dream
Oh yeah Marge, your dreams can come true
Lady when you go away
I feel like I could die
Not like dye like your hair is dyed
But die like Lady Di
And not like Di like her name is Di
But die like when she died
[takes swig from a bottle of vermouth
But lady just like Lady Di
Be my princess tonight
But don't die
Don't die, nooowee

Works for me! If you wanna know more about it you can read it here.

Drunk Dogs

I just read this from Yahoo

Four out of 10 dog owners have fed their pets chocolate which could kill them, while a quarter of vets have treated animals that have been given alcohol.
During the past 12 months 87% of vets said they had seen an increase in the number of cats and dogs needing treatment after being given food intended for human consumption, according to Halifax Pet Insurance.
A third of vets said chocolate and sugary snacks were the biggest culprits, while a quarter blamed the problems on left-overs being fed to pets and 17% attributed them to dairy products. One in four vets said they had had to treat animals who had been given alcohol, which can make them unpredictable and violent.

Aomori Bank

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The Aomori Bank (青森銀行 in Japanese) is a Japanese bank that is headquartered in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture, in the Tohoku Region. Aomori Bank has cooperated with several other banks in the region to create a no-fee ATM network. However, this network has declined recently because one of the participant banks, the Michinoku Bank left the network in July, 2005.
[edit]

Profile
As of March 31, 2004
Assets: Approximately 2.1 trillion yen (approximately USD 19 billion)
Employees: 1,576
Branches: 112 (One representative office in Tokyo)
President: Akio Ibata
Member: Regional Banks Association of Japan
[edit]

History
The first forerunner to what would later become the Aomori Bank was The 59 Bank, established on January 20, 1879 in Hirosaki City, Aomori prefecture. The custom of giving banks numbers is typical of the Meiji era in Japan, though a few such banks with such names have endured, such as The 77 Bank. On October 1, 1943, five banks (The 59 Bank, Hachinohe Bank, Tsugaru Bank, Itayanagi Bank and Aomori Bank) merged to form the Aomori Bank.

More Reasons To Love Biman

After my incredible experience of flying with Biman Bangladesh Airlines, I was non too surprised to read this morning that this wonderful and professional airline has infact been banned by the EU Commission due to safety regulations.

If you're interested in that sort of thing you can get a full list of the banned airlines here (and Nacho probably is...)

I can verify the airport image used in this post is false and has undergone some manipulation, as no evidence of this service was seen at any stage on my trip, however, I can not verify the authenticity of the following images...

Souvenir With A Difference

Thinking of buying presents for people at home? Why not bring home a souvenir with a difference? (no, not a broken nose)
Now you can BUY an Indian village (and a Punjab one at that too!)...
But seriously, I think this story just highlights the ups and downs and contradictions that characterise the India we've all experienced.

And on a related story (can I help it if my paper is full of Indian stories today?!) Tiffins are now big news...apparently! I just feel ripped off the woman in the story is paying 300 Rs only for hers...

Getting Ready for The Oscars 2007

Hey, my (boy) friend Jimi Mistry just send me this update -not long now til we all appear on the big screen!

For the new trainees – this is a film that was partly filmed in Patiala in September (ish?) last year...all the trainees that were around took part as extras!

Nice Lunch...

Today during lunch i went to Club Cuisine here in 17 for my usual "Paneer Tikka Something"...everything was perfect except for two Indians (I saw a lot of them today actually)
While i was eating my nice food, i saw them with an old man who apparently was some kind of servant or slave...i say slave because his "owners" talked to him and treated him like he was some inferior creature, also they ordered food and said to him to sit away from their table...because obviously he was too inferior to share a table with two "Normal" Indians...

I wasn't upset because this guy sat with me instead of his owners...i was upset with the couple, I didn't understand why people here still act like that...like we are in the middle ages, like the rest of the people don't deserve a space in this world...

I looked at the couple trying to get their attention and say something but it was impossible, because also i think i was invisible for them...

I know this is not something that will keep me awake during the night and also is not my bloody country but i think (personal opinion) if in this place people don't show respect between themselves just because they don't belong to the same class or whatever...our nice and exotic Incredible India will stay in "century 1 st" forever...being the incredible India that all of us know...

As if traveling in India isn't scary enough!

Just thought y'all might be interested in this story about 2 Indian trains “seized by communist rebels overnight in eastern India”...I'm planning some trips shortly and this kinda stuff really ain't comforting!

Both trains and all passengers managed to escape unscathed!
