New Poll Up

A new poll is available.  I would encourage everyone that visits this blog to vote, even if you have no idea what Golguppa is.  Let’s just say that maybe it’s a good idea that you don’t know.

And thanks to Hotel Samantha for hosting the party last night.

Thanks for the party Samantha!! Sorry about the chai on your floor but I think the guard appreciated my strange red chai.

It was Goan.

Just curious, but how was the list of food items populated??

The reason i'm asking is that 'golguppa' and 'pani-puri' happen to be the same thing, with the former name used more in North India and the latter more popular in South, especially Maharashtra... ;)

I was told you used red water with golguppa and green water with pani-puri.

Well, i did some looking around and found out that the two are somewhat different, although the difference is not the colour of the water. The colour usually comes from certain ingredients used to make it. Dont know about the rest of the country, but here in Chandigarh, the red water is usually sweet (read not-very-spicy) and the green one is more spicy (read very-very-spicy-for-some)

Just in case someone's interested in finding out what the difference is, read it on Sigfood.

btw, the translation of the italicized sentence near the beginning is "Do try the pani puri that they have there..."
