I think most of the trainees here have already been to Agra, but in case you haven't, make sure you bring your FRO papers (residential permit) with you. Without it, you'll pay approximately 750 rupees to enter the Taj Mahal...with it, you'll pay like 10. If you don't have a residential permit, then either try to get one, or start saving now.
The guys at the entrance will pretend like they have no idea what you're talking about with regards to the FRO discount. Just be persistant and ask to see the manager or something like that. Eventually they'll let you in for the lower price.
Your permit can also be used at other places. Not sure of any specific tourist sites, but I'm told that it works in Jaipur. Anyone else know where you can get an FRO discount?

Well as far as I’m aware the FRO papers work at most tourist locations, museums, art galleries etc…though as I still haven’t located mine so I can’t say from personal experience….and I’ve already paid the rip off price of Rs 750 for the Taj!
Actually pretty much all the tourist attractions in Rajasthan are double price for foreigners, though none are as high as the Taj. So it is worth having one.
Just for the record (not that it matters since it's only 10 Rp difference :) ), the price to enter Taj with FRO papers is 20 Rp.
