Suicides, Accidents, etc.

It can't be a good thing when, in your house, one of the first things that is asked in the morning is, "How many suicides are in the paper?" If not suicides, how many attempted suicides? Or how many accidents occurred?

It seems like every month there is a write-up on suicide...What are the signs? Who does it? Why do people do it?

Is anyone alarmed by the rate of suicides in this city? What is it like in your home country? I've heard about people committing suicide in and around my hometown, but it would only occur once or twice a year (granted, the area has only 10,000 people). Does anyone have any insight as to why there are so many suicides/attempted suicides?

Any input would be appreciated.

I heard that the number of suicides in my country has increased over the last 10-20 years. But, we don't read/hear about them as there are always more important news (probably the causes of the suicides) to be published. (should i put a smiley here?)

Anyway, I heard that countries with highest suicide rates in the World are Hungary and Lithuania (Letonia? sorry guys :) )
