And lastly the bog where my dad has finnished collecting the turf for the winter for the fire. reminds me of my youth bringing in the turf.

Well thats what I call home, My nearest City is Belfast where I went to college but this is what I call home.

I don't know why towns in ireland are twinned with other towns in europe?
My hometown, Grand Forks, has Cottbus, Germany as its sister city. Useless info, yes, but sister cities do seem common, at least in canada they are.
