Olympics Wrap-up


The excitement of the Olympics in Turino, Italy is now over. Here are the results:

(1st place: Germany - Benhanna - 11 gold, 12 silver, 6 bronze = 29 medals!)
(2nd place: USA - 9 gold, 9 silver, 7 bronze = 25 medals.)
3rd place: Canada - Samantha - 7 gold, 10 silver, 7 bronze = 24 medals!!

Czech Republic - Lucie - 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze = 4.

Australia - Ry - 1 gold, 1 bronze = 2.

Japan - Yas and Asami - 1 gold = 1.

Great Britain - Jamie, An - 1 silver = 1.

Slovakia - Marian - 1 silver = 1.

Chile - Nacho - 0.

Ireland - Jean - 0.

India - 0.

I'm sure you are all sick of me talking about the Olympics, but thank you for bearing with us Canadians who are SO excited about our results. This is the most medals we've ever won in a Winter Olympics (previous high was 17) and it's the highest we've ever placed in the medal standings! Join us for the next Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010!!!

To answer Ryan's comment in the last Olympics update:
Okay, okay, we admit it. Our men's hockey team choked in the Olympics and underperformed in most, if not all, of their games.

But as I've been saying all along. It's our women's hockey team that totally rocks! They are actually amateur players unlike the men's team who get paid huge salaries in the NHL. Our women's hockey team dominated the hockey games with a total goal score of 46-2 (goals for - goals against)!
