I just read this from Yahoo
Four out of 10 dog owners have fed their pets chocolate which could kill them, while a quarter of vets have treated animals that have been given alcohol.
During the past 12 months 87% of vets said they had seen an increase in the number of cats and dogs needing treatment after being given food intended for human consumption, according to Halifax Pet Insurance.
A third of vets said chocolate and sugary snacks were the biggest culprits, while a quarter blamed the problems on left-overs being fed to pets and 17% attributed them to dairy products. One in four vets said they had had to treat animals who had been given alcohol, which can make them unpredictable and violent.
