New Trainee in Chandigarh: Sonya

This is Sonja, 22 years old trainee from Germany who arrived in Chandigarh two weeks ago...

I think I have seen most of you once or twice, but just a few of you know me better, cause I am staying at Harveen’s (an AIESECer) place right now instead of joining you in one of the trainee houses.

Why?

Good question...

I am not working for an NGO or a company, but for an AIESEC project called WORLDVIEW. Five other trainees of that project will arrive in June in we will live in some kind of school hostel together.

Our main task is to provide workshops on different topics (cultural education, sport, theater, dance, social issues, career opportunities...) in about 10 schools in Chandigarh, but there’s much more to know about that project which will definitly have impact on the education system...

And you can take part in the project, too!!!

I will visit each of your trainee houses during the next days, tell you more about the project and explain how and in which parts you can participate.

Looking forward to meet you!

Sonya

Open door NGOs

Good morning,

I was thinking... most trainees do not know what others trainees actually do.

Therefore, I am proposing you the following topic that I have called “open door NGO's”. It is meant for trainees who are not evolved in social programs and activities here in Chandigarh.

They will have the possibility to experience this activity for one day or two, maybe on weekends. In that way, they will be able to understand how it works really and have also an interesting approach with people and not only with computer and desk… :-) I am kidding....

I think the opposite way such as "the understanding of business and IT traineeship", it is, on the other hand, a little boring, so... it is better to forget it.

What do you think folks?

House responsability

Does anyone or anyhouse want to take on this task or revamp this idea?

I have an idea concerning house responsability, I think it is better to assign one task to the house instead of a single person as trainees leave and come continuously.

For example, having one house that takes on clothes, another social and healthy problems and another party organisation.

I mean, this system will be not fixed and every X time will be changing. The house which was handling party will be for example which one will be handling with social and healthy problems. So, the people will be able to touch any aspect of the community.

What do you think, I am waiting for your feedbacks?

Trainees' clothes

Hello,

I get here something from Patrick.

Patrick: I invented last year the system here that we leaving trainees give the clothes which we don't need any longer to the slums. At the moment, Rajes is the person to contact for this. I'll leave after things here. Take what ever you'll need. The rest will be taken by Rajes soon. Please do me the favour and enlarge this system until every trainee is doing this. I think compared to throwing it away it's the better option and thus we can bring a smile in their faces. :) Always remember Dalai Lama:
"Buddhism isn't a religion-it's the mentality to improve the world the people around you everyday and to make them smile"

It's so easy here and it cost nothing! Thanks for this. It's been a very important issue for me!!!
I think it is a really good idea and need to be held on.

Rajes is not in Chandigarh anymore,

Does anyone or anyhouse want to take on this task or revamp this idea?

It is so damn hot!

...Uffa... and many diseases are coming along such as malaria, diarrhoeas, stomach aches and many others.

Therefore, please pay attention really with you eat...Make sure your food and drinking water are safe... and drink a lot of water (2-3 L pro day).

Do clean cooler, if you have one, do not leave water there for long time. Maybe, here in Chandigarh is safe, but you never know.

Malaria is a serious and sometimes fatal disease caused by a parasite. Patients with malaria typically are very sick with high fevers, shaking chills, and flu-like illness. Although malaria can be a fatal disease, illness and death from malaria are largely preventable.

Take care

New Trainees

A warm Welcome to Sonya from Germany and Salvador from Mexico.

We wish you a great journey in Chandigarh.

Hugs

I believe you can fly

There is an opportunity to do paragliding in Himachal, at Bir with Europeean standards (an Engilsh instructor with 6 years teaching experience - good to know for those who are very concerned about safety).

One flight is about 40 min. and the launch is from 2.600m.

One flight is 2.500 Rs., discounted. This is a tandem flight (not alone), so no experience is needed, the instructor is doing the hard job.

Who is instrested, please let me know on e-mail or phone so we plan the timming.
